Almost any modern laptop has a wireless adapter inside it, which allows the user to connect to any WIFI network. Unfortunately, the Windows operating system doesn't have a reliable WIFI client and it doesn't offer too much information about wireless networks. More detailed information can be useful for troubleshooting WIFI problems or for choosing a fast network to connect to.

Fortunately, there are applications on the market which can display various information regarding wireless networks. One of them is WirelessMon. This Windows application can be installed in the shortest time possible and can be used by anyone, having an intuitive interface.

After running the program, the user will be able to see all the available wireless networks, together with complete information regarding each of them, like the signal strength, router MAC address, network speed and so on. Connecting to a WIFI network can be done with just two mouse clicks. After connecting the network, the amount of information that WirelessMon can display will be even greater.

As such, WirelessMon will be able to display in real time the number of transmitted and received packets, the total amount of generated traffic, the location of the network and other network values which allow the user to determine whether the WIFI network acts normally or not. There is even a real-time graph available, which can display various values over time, like the signal strength, received data rate and so on.

The signal strength graph can be saved as an image file, for later analysis. What's more, the list of found wireless networks can be saved as a project file, for loading the information into WirelessMon later on, in case the application is re-installed.

Pros

It can display complete information regarding any wireless network, like the speed, MAC address, type, location and so on. Besides that, the user can view the signal strength as a graph. Furthermore, one can easily connect to any WIFI network with just two mouse clicks. What's more, it allows you to determine if a network is running normally.

Cons

Some network values may not be understood by inexperienced computer users. Using WirelessMon, you can easily determine if a WIFI network is running normally and you can also view various information regarding any wireless network.
